FAQ

Country code questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about international dialing prefixes, ITU-T E.164 numbering, and how Ringflow handles global voice.

A country code (also called an international dialing code or IDD code) is the numeric prefix used to route calls between countries. It's defined by the ITU-T E.164 standard. For example, +1 reaches the US and Canada, +44 reaches the United Kingdom, and +91 reaches India.
Three parts: your country's exit code (usually 00, or 011 in North America, or just + from a mobile), then the destination country code, then the national number with any leading 0 removed. Example calling London from anywhere: +44 20 7946 0958.
They share a numbering plan. The North American Numbering Plan (NANP) covers the US, Canada, and most of the Caribbean — all under +1, distinguished by area code. Russia and Kazakhstan share +7. The UK Crown Dependencies share +44.
An ISO code (ISO 3166-1) is a letter-based identifier — US, USA, GB, GBR — used in addresses, currencies and software. A country code is the numeric dialing prefix (+1, +44). They're not interchangeable, but every country has both.
Yes. Ringflow offers virtual DID numbers in 120+ countries — local, mobile, toll-free and shared-cost. Provision through the dashboard, route to any agent, and answer calls from anywhere in the world.
No — the country code is the same. What differs is the leading digits of the national number, which signal whether it's a mobile, landline, toll-free or premium service.
